Remember?
Remember when Everyday was an adventure,
When we got along with all the kids on the playground,
I Remember those days,
When our Teddy Bears were our friends,
When we sat in front of the TV watching Cartoons,
When the only superheroes we knew were Mommy and Daddy,
I remember how good it felt when nothing seemed to be wrong,
when we believed our Birthday candles could grant wishes,
and when we thought Mom and Dad would always be there beside us.
I miss the days when we were clueless,
Because now I know those wishes were wasted,
Our parents didn't have enough love to fight for each other,
and they'd never be together.
I remember when we thought life was perfect,
That we'd grow up and meet a rich prince,
And that our parents would always be strong,
But now I realize we were wrong,
Our parents left our side,
Stars and Candles won't grant wishes,
and not everyone wants to be your best friend,
Remember when we were little,
and we didn't have to grow up?
I do.
