A Million Miles Apart
You’re a million miles away,
But I want you by my side,
I just want to say,
The feelings I cannot hide,
Every day I lay awake thinking,
About our lives together,
Our hearts eternally linking,
What we can have forever,
Sometimes I can hear you breathe,
As if you sleep next to me,
And I just want to believe,
The things I cannot see,
I wish I held you in my arms,
And whisper 'I love you',
Protect you from outer harm,
Gift you inner muse,
But the fact remains that now,
Distance separates you from me,
It hurts more than I'd allow,
If we weren't wedded in matrimony,
And for that I will always fight,
For you are something I need to have,
Maybe things aren't always alright,
But my heart craves you so bad,
It’s survived a dozen breaks,
My eyes seen a thousand tears,
But that's a fraction of the pain I'd take,
To be able to have you here,
We are a million miles apart,
And to you all my love I send,
You have a stranglehold on my heart,
And I never want it to end.
