Society
Like dolls we walk this Earth,
Looking for what only their skin can give;
Younger!
Younger!
Scream the grand ones.
Older!
Older!
Scream the young ones.
We cannot change what hand Life deals us,
And age is just a part of it.
We can play our cards in sly maneuvers,
Trying to trip the inevitable ending.
We all die.
We all fade.
We all grow at our damned rate.
Society burns an image of perfection
Into our impressionable minds.
Thinner!
Thinner!
Scream the starving.
Bigger!
Bigger!
Scream the poor.
All of reality
is put on hold---- for what society brings to this sad show of a world.
Grand ones, Young ones,
Mothers, Fathers,
Brothers, Sisters,
Daughters, Sons!
Look away from the mirror!
Look out onto what we have brought down on ourselves.
Shape up. Make up. Break up. Where's my make up??
Look away!
Look away!
Procrastination is for tomorrow
Change is for today.
