If change is a theme,
Why is everything still the same?
If everything changes…

Why does the tide come in every day?
Why do ocean waves come?
Why does the sun rise?

And set?
Glistening ice covers lush land,
But always retreats from summer’s rays.

How can one expect to learn from previous mistakes?
And grow their wisdom
Without father time taking a break
While the moments flee.

I grew up here, and it’s the same.
The musty rain,
and bittersweet cold air.

And even when things will grow different
A pass of time
Brings undoubted similarity.
