Alone
Shivering by the streets
 I wave
 But they only laugh
 Throwing their garbage at me
 "Get a job" they shout
"and a shower while you're at it!"
 Don't they know better
 I cry on the curb
Wishing they were in my shoes
Maybe they would change their minds
 Think twice
But then I would be the fool
 To be saying such things
 They could never be kind
To a poor beggar like me
 Never would they show
 An act of courtesy
 Maybe
 Possibly
 I don't know
If they would do such things for me
 I'm poor
 Alone
 On the Street
 With nobody to comfort me
