The Man in the Mask

Everyone hates him
Treat him like an outcast
He's made some choices
But that doesn't mean he's bad
He only does wrong
To remind us
That he's still here
With the mask
That they left on him
To hide his scarred soul
I look and find
One who was
Tortured
Ignored
Betrayed
Defiled
Even though
He truly
Ment no harm
I fell in love
Knowing
Of disapproval
Of my previous engagement
I knew better
But he looked at me
In a way that
I simply couldn't resist
They and I
Grew apart
I never saw Them again
At peace
At last
And in
Romance
With the man in the mask

I won't pretend to fully understand but I loved the ending, throwing away everything for the one who was thrown away like trash.
