Life Is A Forest
Life is a forest…
A maze without direction
tightening in
the eerie silence
of no birds or squirrels
no song guiding your destination
just when you think
maybe-
you see the end of the trail
a rock jumps out and trips you
as if to whisper
“you’re wrong.”
you find your balance
vines find their way around your knees
no birds
no squirrels
You’re wrong
the trees cover the light
the leaves cover you previous steps
the stream says
“follow me!”
the water is cold but soothing
it ventures to the end
of the trees
of the forest
you turn back to glance at your journey,
to see a beautiful, blooming,
amazing place
Life is a forest…
