A Rose's Charm
I see no beginning; I know no end, is this the way a life must be lived? Do I have no purpose; will I never find a meaning? Must I continue to wallow and weep, knowing that my heart is still beating?
I am stuck; trapped within this lonely abyss, with nothing but a rose, petals soft as a kiss; but I may never hold or touch, for the thorns are of a cactus. This truly is the greatest torture in life, knowing that the only thing that brings me joy, acts as a serrated knife.
I may never be given a chance, I may never be understood; she always walks by without a giving a single glance. I can never remove this darkened hood, for the pain is too much, the sorrow is too great, the only release is from the thickened blood….
