Man In The Park
I once saw a man on a bench in the park,
But that man should not have been there,
He stood and walked,
we walked so far through the dark park.
He walked through the mist and the rain,
all on the quiet path.
He slinked through the park,
like a snake in the grass,
He walked as a shadow,
through the frozen night
never stopping
He pushed on and on through the dark
and was eventually rewarded with
the sun, the bright morning sun
melting the layers of dark that had
been consuming him,
He was happy and free at last.
