Land of Dreams
I float, I drift, I soar
across the star-splattered midnight sky
arms outstretched
my fingertips lightly brush the clouds
they are soft like cotton candy
alone, up so high, yet I am unafraid
I know my bed will catch me if I fall
What’s that?
up ahead
a figure, resting upon a cloud
as it drifts closer, she sees me
we share a secret smile but speak no words
for where we are is a quiet place
except for the soft music
coming from every corner of the sky
surrounding me like a warm blanket
the girl drifts slowly away
and I wave wordlessly
Will we ever see each other again?
Maybe, maybe not
who knows what will happen here?
is this even real?
these thoughts float across my mind like the soft clouds
or is it just
my imagination?
all I know is
anything can happen
in the land of dreams
