Adrenaline
Applause as I walk out
Then science
As he takes his place
And I take mine
All attention focused on the stick
And once the stick drops,
Sound fills the space again
Sound, fit for Bach himself
Adrenaline floods the streets of my veins
From head to toe and back up again
Alerting me of the fluttering, of
The once again active butterflies
He begins
Then I join
All my power drawn from nerves
An ocean of yearning
The time goes by all too quick
Yet all the slow
And soon I’m forced to bow
And wait to come back another day.
