Battle Wounds
You may not see my scars
or my battle wounds.
But mine hurt me
just as much as yours hurt you.
These battle wounds
affect everything I do.
Just like yours do to you.
It hurt when I got them.
Just as much,
if not more.
as when you got yours.
I can only ease the pain;
I can never erase.
These wounds aren’t just skin deep
like yours may be.
The battle wounds of mine,
you may not see.
But trust me,
they really do hurt me.
