The Light in the Shadows
I am the flowering hope
In a land of hard ground,
 I fight my way up
 Through the cold darkness
 To a bud
Then a flower glowing like the hidden sun,
 Inside myself

I hope to spread the seeds of my flower
So hope won’t just be in me
 But inside others
 In this cold place
 Where the ground is cold
 But not frozen

 The thawing will come
Then the scared will break free
The sun will come out from its hidden realm above the clouds
To feed the flowers that grow and wilt,
 We will be a garden
 Brighter than the sun,
A garden of love peace and hope
 With no fear or hate.
