First Snow
Nothing compares to winter’s first snowfall
When you look outside and can say to yourself,
“Wow Mother Nature, you’ve done it again”
The pines covered in white, the lawn now ivory
Suddenly noticing the small doe in the back yard
Her brown fun exposed by the white snow
Now aware of you she runs off
And all you can do is be thankful to be alive
