Bittersweet
There’s a constant war
Between the bitter and the sweet
A constant struggle
Between the happy and sad
Aching, shaking, trembling inside
It cannot fix the broken.
Lies are the bent truth
To hurt more than meant to
There’s no knowing how long
And how much I can wait until
My heart explodes into
Dozens of fireworks
I am done with it all
Love has escaped every
Crevice in my mind
There once was the magic of innocence
But the tragedy of reality has hit too hard
My world’s become infected with
The very thought of loneliness
They’ve all lost me.
I tried too hard to fix me
But I couldn’t deny that
I’ve already lost the fight
I already regret it all
But it’s always too late
Sometimes sorry isn’t enough
And thinking is the worst you can do
My mind is lost and
I’m still trying to catch up
The sound of silence can be
As sharp as the scream of tears
You can never look back
The edge of night creeps faster than we’d like
And the end is nearer than ever before
There’s a desperate need to regain the
Use of your own imagination
Why haven’t they all been there for me,
While I lose my own mind?
I can feel my soul breaking down
And tearing apart my everything
I don’t have much to hold on to
I never feel at home
But the worst is yet to come,
And the best will always follow.
