Dwindle
This doesn’t feel right
Tweaking myself to fit a little better
 To be a little more…preppy
 Hipster
 Nerdy
 Whatever!
 I think-
 They think
 They are
 So…should I?
 Dress like her?
 Do as she does?
I don’t want my dreams and aspirations to dwindle behind
 A skin that isn’t mine.
A skin that stretches into a mouth that utters lies
Into feet that take me places of no interest
Into eyes that observe a world tempting me with opportunities to thrive and develop the real me,
 But not one I take.

The silenced and scared girl inside has never been given a chance to speak.
I believe she will not be accepted
So she is smothered with the cloth of my false identity
 No
This certainly does not feel right
