Darkness
The Soft glow
Lights up the
darkened room
A single spot of light
Is all I see
blinded by the flame

All else around me
Is pitch black
Reaching out my hand
It's swallowed
by the darkness
By the chilling
black air

Burning my hand
A jerky movement

    Please don't go out
The flame wavers
My heart beating as fast
As it's flicker
I'm scared to be Alone
In this darkened room

A single ember
Above where my hand used to be
My breath Catches
Smoke
Fills the air around me
The air is cold
Once again

It falls from my hand
The candle
That held me together
kept me safe
I'm alone
In this room

I hear footsteps
They're close
Too close
They're echoing around me

A hand grabs my arm
Screaming
I try to pull back
The darkness
Is trying to take me
I won't let it

My candle
Where is it?
I need the light
I'm scared
of the darkness
Of being by myself
