"A flower unplucked is but left to the falling,
And nothing is gained by not gathering roses."
-Robert Frost

He wears his father’s shirt and his father’s shoes
And pretends he’s a man.
This little boy whose
Own shoes do not yet fit him,
already is a man.
Or so he thinks he can
be as he walks in those big shoes,
shirt dangling past his knees.
The farther he walks the more he sees
He is bound to trip-
Shoes too big and shirt to his knees.

I wrote this poem about someone who grew up to fast. I hope that readers will learn that we are young for a reason and should try to enjoy that time while we can.
