Two Lives in One
It's funny,
not really,
more exciting,
not quite,
only perceived attraction.
An element of living,
am I, can I be?
It seems like so-
heterosexual-
written on the wall,
like a law,
a regulation,
a strict policy,
a social standard,
nature's script.
I'm concealed,
only around nobody,
am I a person-
with a heart?
With blood flowing,
through my veins,
oh how it's strange,
how it's uncommon,
not to I-
I remain open.
Take a step back,
considered 2nd class,
this is life,
the score is tied,
not an institution,
the un-American way.
Gay-
a word,
an adjective,
f*ggot, I hear,
not entirely in reply.
What do I do,
what do I say-
yelling,
from both fields.
Do you not understand?
That I steal,
that I'm greedy?
Of course not,
mind your opinion
- a carefree bisexual.
