I am
Scared,
For the change to come-
Like the seeds of a dandelion getting thrown
Regrowing in a new place.

I am
Falling apart,
At the thought of a million new faces-
Like an old letter
Stashed at the bottom of a drawer.

I am
Hiding,
Afraid to face a world I will soon leave-
Like the caterpillar sheltered away
Before it alters its life forever.

I am
Wincing,
At the pain that has become routine-
Like a gambler never folding
Never facing an addiction.

Change: The only thing as sure as tomorrows sunrise.

I will be
Okay.
Like I always have been.
Like I always will be.

I personally wrote this about moving a lot, but it can be taken an way for any person - the underlying message is how it feels when facing a drastic change.

well that was the point im glad my poem properly conveyed my emotion and made at least one of my readers feel my emotion while writing it / feel their own emotion because of it

It seems really depressing, I mean, no offense intended, it's really great and I know how you feel, I moved across the country last year, but it makes me want to cry.

Good piece, I really like it and I totally love the last stanza that's my favourite coz many times I find myself saying that! It's relatable and that means a tonne..

I like the structure and how this poem kind of tells a story and how they can get through it like they always do.

That's AWESOME. I like the form and word choices. And I like the ending.
