Scabs
Ache, ache, ache
one vertebrate
at
a
time
grates against
the clock
like chedder
cheese;
scabs will fall
and disintegrate
in the coffee
I need
well.
want, want, want
iron panties
can’t contain
the stains of
the capitalism
of ego,
oh, that robber-baron—
with its monopolies!
like cocaine
vacuuming
up
into
our
brains
& we will
itch and scratch
a dog in the sun
with a circus
of fleas
(we’ll all be)
until the scabs
come
flaking
down
to end up
floating
in our coffee
