Tides of Change
In the beginning
 Sheltered behind aged cliffs
A distant sea whispered in my ears
 And sprayed white blossoms
 Of good tidings

 Eons have washed past
 And with it,
 Roaring tides have battered me
 Carved my lines
 And moulded my soul

 Now I am a precipice
 Insurmountable
 My heart is of stone
 My black face unyielding
Skies and seas I hold in my eyes

 Someday years hence
 Should you return
I fear you will not know me
