Bird's Song
Falling down
Onto broken ground
In the mists of a hurricane
In the eye of the storm
Just a gentle rain
With a whisper of the bird’s song
The wind blows
And the trees collapse
Yet the sun still shines on the scene
The dark steel walls
Impenetrable gate
Hide the blissful wreckage
The uncharted land
Once quiet, content
Now on the brink of civil war
It’s wild nature
Free and strong
Being tamed
To vulnerable happiness
The wind blows
And the trees collapse
And the water begins to rise
The fires reign down
On now broken ground
The war rages on
The walls crack and tumble
But in the ruin and ruble
The bird’s song is loud and clear
