Weight of Time
Blankets of time
Are slowly crushing me,
Pushing me down further
Into my loving bed.
Wearing down the youth
Of my bones.
Blankets of time
Are slowly crushing me,
Pushing me down
Into the Depths of the Dead.
Eventually, I know
I will meet my fate.
A beautiful young man
Will great me at my door—
Promise me eternal youth and beauty—
I will get into his chariot,
Carried by Hell’s horses.
But for now, I will enjoy
The warmth and pressure
Of the blankets,
And I will continue
To tell this young man,
“more weight.”
