Fear Full Silence
We wait in silence
To hear the sound of safety.
Police sirens are heard
Resounding through brick walls.
A man walks down the halls.
We all have fear—
For our very lives.
Scenes of lovely memories
Do not flash before my eyes.
Tears no longer stream
Down my terrified face.
I huddle in a corner—
A freshman, alone.
Hopes that I
Will see the light of tomorrow.
My cowering in a corner
Does not seem to
Ease away the fear.
As I wake up
In a hospital bed
I recall the happenings
Of a yesterday I cannot find—
Flashes of murder-metal
Appear in the back
Of my traumatized mind.
