Different
How can you say
I'm different?
When I talk to a pretty girl
I'm nervous just like you.
When she says my name
I smile just like you.
When I ask her to the dance,
I stutter and stare at my feet
just like you.
The first time she says
“I love you,”
my heart pounds and I cheer in my head
just like you.
When she falls asleep in my arms,
I'm happy just like you.
It just so happens
that I'm a girl too.
