Rain on tuesday
I sit on the Idle bus
Children keep on yelling
"Put up your window"
Rain batters at the the top
as loud as the cacophony of my heart beat
in my ears
there's a furious scream
Metal slamming against
his young fist
my insides mock the thunder
I have no reserve of courage for him
I turn up my Ipod and look away
I hate myself, all day
and the next day
and the next day
I vow to never let them stand alone
