pigeon
I wish
I was there
Up with those pigeons
On that oxidized city bridge
The way top
So I could feel my stomach
Drop like rain drops
Because peace
Comes from
I don’t know
But my anger
I know where that comes from
A red
Thing
Beating loudly on Kobe drums
Almost everyday
I am
An angry sister
I am
An angry daughter
I am
An angry friend
I am
An angry writer
But I
Don’t know how to stop it
How to unclench my fists
Quiet my voice
Cause the red thing’s drums
Down out my logic
And my whimsy
And my peace
The red thing burns
Like the words on my tongue
And I wish them to be cool
Like the wind would be
On my pigeon wings
Or the one thought
Stuck in my head
Like a song
I wonder if birds are scared to fly?
