When You Didn't Come
I have always relied on you
And you always came through
Caring for me
Then once you left me
Shivering in the cold
Alone
With chaos and distress
I walked like an empty soul
Roaming until I couldn't anymore
Waiting for you to still come through
But you couldn't
Because someone was keeping you from me
Keeping you prisoner
And you couldn't think clearly
Without them you didn't know what to do
You couldn't get free
And you could never come back to me
We would see each other
But couldn't bring ourselves to speak of the problems
And it stung
When you would always leave in the end
Now that you have it figured out
You try harder
And things may get normal again
And I really hope so
But there is still a scar
And although things may seem ok
I still think of that horrifying day
When you didn't come
