Music in my Memory
It’s not something I can touch with only hands alone,
A strength found intertwined within notes,
black dots, lined page,
It’s a strength that can be felt by the heart when the notes begin to play
Soft and slow, quick paced with pop,
it doesn’t matter which you favor,
all that matters, which must be stressed,
is the feeling once the notes have sprung to ear
Cascades of feeling, washing over us both,
ripples of rainbow as the bass drops low,
not one can feel it like the other,
not one experience is quite the same
Awakening memories from past,
creating thoughts to hold to the future.
Increasing tempo,
energy building,
mind whirring,
fingers tapping
The climax is reached, heart about to explode,
and it drops.
The tune slows, dwindling last notes,
and the notes hang in the air like fog,
and the song –over- the music – gone –
And only that feeling remains
