Unto a World Better Then I Left Behind
Surrounded in ash
Piles of Soot
My fingers are burnt
The matches are black
And the air, heavy
Not breathable, grey
Damage already done
Only waiting
The Phoenix rises
Feathers aflame
Talons like Charcoal
Razor Sharp
They pierce my flesh
Dragging me to
Blue skies, white clouds
Higher than Heaven
Past Angels, through God
Unto black abyss
His eyes illuminate
Stars guiding them aglow
Not air is there to breathe
Yet, better than
The world I left
Behind and far away
