Changes
Orange rays peek through the dying trees
As I lay beginning to trace the seams in my oversized sweatshirt
The air is cool and I’ve longed for the heat to tame
My hands peak through a sleeve where they are exposed and dry
The creases in my fingertips remind me of a man’s
Old and aged with wisdom
I reminisce on the summer days, the tan skin and the sun
Yet I feel years older since then
I trade in my salty beach hair for pale skin
And the worry free season has passed and stress has gained yet I’m content
With responsibility brings rewards
With summer brings fall
