paintings on the walls
fingerprints run dry
smears of another time
youngsters running about
adults drinking away their lives
people moving on
people getting lives
changing gears
tassels moved over
a simple piece of paper
oh, but it weighs a ton
don’t you dare lose it
your grip on reality
don’t know what to become
growing older
not getting any younger
but, oh, the memories are fresh
relive them in dreams
the good ol’ days
but they passed in such a hurried haze
the prime of our lives
now we drink to forget
to remember
to disappear
from it all
but we replay it all in our heads
