The Now
Think of the future, think of the past.
Think of everything, how was your time spent?
People working, people speaking,
People playing, and people resting, quite content.
Always thinking, always thinking.
What once was, and what is to come?
Think of the future, think of the past.
Your whole life in your hands, but what has it meant?
People ideating, people struggling,
People trying, and people doubting, a frustrating lament.
Never thinking, never thinking,
What am I, and what is now?
Think of the future, think of the past.
How is it you emerge, with the first striking event?
People wishing, people praying,
People waking, and people understanding, now in the present.
Continue thinking, continue thinking,
Why linger elsewhere, when you must think of the now?
The now is yours, and the now is now... embrace it.

If all else perished and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger. <br /> -- Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights
