She's Finally Here
Sometimes I look back to the day we found out,
The day she called saying “Two lines”,
And I think: “This is such a surprise”.
Even I find it hard to believe that she’s here.
A small bundle of joy that came two weeks early,
The girl I was shocked about learning about,
And felt like it wasn’t reality.
Still learning to come to the grips with her being pregnant,
The baby girl is born before my own eyes.
A small cry,
A little pink blanket,
And the name Aubrey.
All so much to take in that she’s really here,
She’s actually and finally here,
And we’re all happy she is.
We’re all connected by an infant,
The infant even I could hardly believe was going to be here.
Her parents with smiles,
And even her grandparents.
I, her Aunt, can’t even help but smile when I see her.
She’s finally here,
And it’s actually real.
