Potentially losing a friend

The conversation develops.
Teary eyed
Heart pounding.
Re-running the situation through my head
I had begun to mutter.
The truth was going to be confessed,
For it could potentially ruin our friendship.
Shocked,
For what I had confessed
She gets up and hugs me.
I knew then,
She was my true best friend.
All the pointless fear I had conjured up
Went away,
Like birds migrating for the winter.
