Invisible weight
She never knows to smile or frown
She’s always confused and it brings her down
But now it’s clear
She feels it like evil is near
Its sadness
It’s the thought of not being able to change what’s been done
It’s the shame of the first time
It haunts her
She feels like a nickel looking for a dime
But it’s not just that
It never just is
She feels alone
She misses her mom
She misses her family
The singing at the table
That laughing at the jokes
It feels like it’s gone
Her world is torn
There is more to bare
School comes along
The fear is emulated
It’s so easy to be wrong
It’s so hard to be right
She’s in a constant fight
The girl in the mirror traps her with fright
It all piles up
The darkness comes to the light
She thinks of all the hurt
It finally feels clear
She could drown it with a beer
But that’s just hiding in fear
It hits her like a bus
Like a needle piercing through her skin
She’s not confused
She knows it’s true
Its sadness
Its sadness tonight
