Hurricane

The quiet pain,

A bitter remembering.

The memories come like a flood

Drowning the only happiness that remains.

She gasps for air as her life fades

But the pain keeps falling

Wet from the sky.

Struggling to break the surface

She is caught by the waves

Again and again

Until she gives in to the cascade

And sinks Deeper.

But then a light

A light shines in the distance

And she rises

Grasping the hope of the light.

The water drains

She is alive again.

She is okay until the next

Hurricane of tears

That breaks her apart

Again
