The Concept of Time
I’ve never understood the concept of time;
 How the hands on a spinning clock
 Represent sunrise and sunset.
 How grains of sand in an hour glass
 Signify the first breath of a child and the last heartbeat of a dead soul.
 How the pages of a calendar depict
 The fast pace of autumn leaves falling off of mother tree,
 Blanketing the ground to welcome winter’s icy chill.
 Humans constantly create such strange concepts.
 Creating their own problems.
 Imagine a world without time;
 Never late nor early,
 No morning or night,
 No breakfast or dinner; you may eat as you please.
 Forevers could possibly exist;
 For there’d be no days, weeks, months, or years;
 Just here and now,
 Frozen,
 Forever.
