"We have to let go of being petty and bitter, because they can be going through as much pain as you."

My gardens have been wilting,
The green fading to brown;
Vibrant leaves becoming dull,
Colorless.

The path to me is covered in them,
Their lifeless bodies curled up.
They're left whole and neglected,
Longing in their last moments
To hold on one more time.

He sits at the nearby bench,
Hewn in marble with facets of spackle
and tarnish.
I am left powerless.
I am trapped by his gaze.

As if my body were stone,
I am trapped.
My arms are broken and gone,
My legs are immobile.

Withered petals float by in the wind
Like a wisp dancing in the night.
They draw him nearer,
Perplex him more.

Is this my destiny?
If I could reach forward,
If I could touch his skin,
Maybe then I could be free.

Every day he draws nearer
But my body refuses to budge.
I am so lonely in this state.
I am locked here.

His touch would free me
And release my soul.
All he does is stare
And I am left alone.

I have no legs and I must move.
I have no arms and I must feel.
I have no eyes and I must see.
I have no mouth and I must scream.
