pain from a memory
We try to walk forward
But try to stand still
To remember the past
But to forget the memories
To weep
But not cry
To show emotion
But to not show fear
We try to resist the temptation of hate
But the memories past try to control our fate
From those of loved ones that now have past
To the ones of recent where we had a blast
Memories are sad
But happy to
To be with people some have forgotten
But also remember the pain of their death
But if you hold on to the pain and try to move forward
You will only stand still frozen in time
So we must do both in an endless war
To walk forward
And yet stand still
