Tarnished Armor

He rescued me.
He did.
I had been hurt.
I had fallen.
And all of a sudden,
he showed up
on his mottled brown steed
pulled me to my feet,
and tried to turn me loose,
set me free.
But I did not choose
to leave.
Instead I stayed.
I stuck around.
And now I belong.
