Portrayed Lies
Behind
his zany smile
conceals the misery
and suffering
you bring him
you assume
him ignorant
but he's really
trying to rid himself
of reality
the reality
of your words
too foul in which to repeat
do you not
glimpse him mourning
over the ghastly words
portraying LIES
as he treads home
do you believe
that he has
no perception
that his mind
is as blank
as your conscience
setting you forth
to do "good"
he is as human
as you
only one
not perturbed
about who he is
you advise him
about how gruesome he is
as if his heart
hasn't heard it all before
he is thrust
off his seat
signs held up to him
in class
as the teacher pivots
with horrific phrases
in permanent ink
almost as permanent
as his memory
of these incidents
he drops his lunch
so it becomes
a soccer ball
in a cruel game
of keep away
on top of this
you execute more
he has never
hurt a fly
yet you hurt him
as though he is
the doormat
beneath your filthy feet
so he writes poems
drowning himself
in hopeless words
to get his emotions
off his fatigued mind
though you
don't read them
but if you did
you might cease fire
if you grasped
what went on
in his head
you would know
he thinks solely
of death.
