Heroes come in every shape and size.
Most are recognized by what they do.
Through the eyes of a child,
My greatest hero is you.

I can remember many times wanting to spend with you.
It didn't have to be a whole day,
Just a minute or two.

During that time I was with you,
I had that special moment just for me.
Heroes didn't have to be super...
A dad was all he had to be.

You never had to be perfect,
Though you always were to me,
And I was always glad to be with you
For the whole world to see.

Though the eyes of everyone else
They judged you by everything you did, or did not do.
Through the eyes od a child I did too,
But with one big difference...
I loved you, I still do.
And I always will.

What can you say to someone who stood by you to help you grow?
Learning right from wrong,
Providing you the love, strength and support
So you can be the person you are today?
And hope you inherited his strength and wisdom.

What words would you say if you ever got the chance?
Maybe just day, "I love you."
And hope he wraps his arms around you tight,
Letting the warmth of his love comfort you.

When he's not there for days, weeks or months
You remember the time you had with him.
You remember the warmth of his arms around you,
His soothing voice comforting you in bad times,
And you wish he was there.

But when it all comes down,
It turns out he loves you more than you think,
And will ever believe.
