The Unexpected Surprise

The midnight moon shines,
The pathway to the deserted house
On Halloween.
The faint howl of wolves
Fill my ear drums.
I was dared
To go into the haunted house,
On Halloween night.
My best friend shivers
Beside me.
We slowly crawl up
To the door of the house.
I ring the doorbell,
And listen for footsteps.
All I hear is the faint sound
Of high heels clicking on the floor.
3 minutes go by.
No one answers.
My friend squeals next to me.
The door slowly creaks opens,
Then all the lights turn on.
And surprise fills my entire body.
