SELF-PORTRAIT
The way I see you
The long nights, cocked up on one elbow
That dark mysterious voice in my ear mumbling
“Baby please, help me with my homework”, “Don’t go to sleep, I miss you”
“You tired babe?”
Transforming my cheeks to red roses.
My magician
As we dream of the future,
Those asian brown eyes planted on mine
Your sweaty fingers intertwined in mine
He tells me he wants to be a brutal old man
But with his teddy bear belly and cartoon smile
No one will ever take him serious.
My dreamer
The way I see you,
My dreamer,
My magician,
Mine.
