She wobbled across ice,
frequently falling.
Bruised knees
promised improvement.
Encouragement shown-
through bandaids and flowers.
Competitions came,
gaudy costumes sewn.
One day
a trophy came.
Forever engraved,
"Most Improved".
Tears of accomplishment followed.
