Humanity
How our laughs
Fly on the breeze of eternity
And our smiles imprint
On the history of us
In our joy we blend
Into the spin of the circus
The circus of life
To know such beauty
Yet such ugliness
Do we live a dream?
How our tears flood our souls
And blur the way to solace
How the drumbeat of our wailing
Echoes into the night
But I'll never understand
How we raze the towering walls
Of loved ones lost,
Of goals unfulfilled,
Of vows broken.
How the boiling of the blood
Disintegrates past woes
and crumbles the bricks of sorrow
To let in the light of day
and renew the spin of the circus.
