Words To My Father
Words cannot express deeply enough how we feel about losing you,
Asking ourselves everyday really is it true,
Did we really lose you,
As a son losing a dad like you is hard to keep bottled up and stay strong,
As a daughter it's hard not to cry after thinking fond of you for too long,
And as a wife it's hard to think of life without her beloved husband,
Days may come and go,
And as our emotions flow,
There is no pain greater than dealing with the death of a beloved love one,
When people ask if we're okay,
How do we conjure up the words to say,
We're okay knowing we're far from it,
We're fine when we're nowhere near it,
Life without you will never be the same,
Willing to trade fortune and fame,
Just to hear and see more than just your name,
Your family loved you in life,
And even more in death,
And with God's faith,
We can honestly say,
That we'll be fine,
And will be reunited with you in God's time.
