Strength for the Bullied
They say you’re lame, they say you aren’t smart.
They say you are worthless, and end where you start.
They say you’re not cool, they say you’re a pity.
Don’t let anyone ever say that you’re not pretty.
They say your ugly, they say you’re overweight.
They say you’re anorexic, they say you’re not great.
They say you’re emo, they say you have no worth.
They say to quit trying, they say your life is not deserved.
They say you take up oxygen, they say you take up space,
They say you’re annoying, that you need to be replaced.
They say you’re a retard, they say you’re insane.
They say you’re an infidel, they say you’re to blame.
But you know deep inside you that you’re not all these things.
That your life can be amazing, and you can achieve your dreams.
So put down that razor. Put down that knife.
Step back, take a breath, and don’t let them take your life.
Remember you’re loved, remember there’s care.
You have a shoulder to cry on anywhere.
Remember they’re not worth it, the bullying will stop.
Wait for that day, and don’t let yourself drop.
Your life may feel empty, your heart might break.
But it’s not worth it, no matter the size of the mistake.
So put down that rifle, put down those pills.
Don’t stand in the road, don’t let yourself get killed.
Write out your feelings, maybe punch a wall.
But life is worth it, don’t let yourself fall.
So if this poem is all that pulled you through,
Know that I believe, and I reach out to you. <3
